15th May is commemorated as International Day of Families. We can’t deny the importance of family and to enhance the importance of a family the idea of International family day was raised. From 1993, according to the United Nations General Assembly, the International Family Day is celebrated in many countries. The main objective to celebrate the day is giving honor to the whole family with some innovative way. The primary reason for commemorating this day is to create awareness and recognition of the purpose of families and their values in influencing the world. It was in the 1980s that the United Nations chose to concentrate on family-related concerns. International Family Day is symbolized by a heart that expands upwards and creates the roof of a home, which is then etched in a green circle.

The International Day of Families raises awareness of the value of a healthy, well-balanced family. Every year, through a theme the day is celebrated and in last year it was focused on the effects of modern technologies on family well-being, building on the subject of the Commission for 59th session of Sustainable Development. The main attention was on the contribution of digital technology in the socially growth and well-being for everyone for more equitable and sustainable development transition. And in this year 2022, the theme was Families and urbanization. This theme was taken to increase awareness about the necessity of family-friendly, sustainable urban strategies. On the third Monday of February, Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and New Brunswick celebrate Family Day. This festival recognizes the value of families and family life to individuals and society.

International Family Day is a great chance for families to gather together and discuss the various topics that are important to them. It is a time to spend with loved ones and to cherish your family, both close and extended. And this incident occurs in different countries with lots of happiness and satisfaction. Family consists of more than just the people you are born into; it also encompasses your friends, wider family, and pets. To us, family is the collection of that people with whom we are secured and the place of utmost safety. Some families attached themselves with some energetic activities like taking dinner/meal together, planting a family garden, making family stories or creating backyard greener. It also cooperates to resolve family related internal issues too.
